3. Client Job tracking
We have developed a web-based job tracking mechanism so that our clients (and ourselves)
can monitor and coordinate job progress. Although there are of course many commercial
project/workflow applications, we believe that in many cases a lightweight web-based
solution designed specifically with the client's business needs in mind is a better
option.
The job tracker is designed for tasks which are repeated periodically.
It has the notion of a job being composed of
several contiguous steps, each of which has several status conditions from "started" to "finished".
Help tips can be attached to each step to provide guidance to users. Different levels of access to management
functions can be given to different users. Reporting modules can readily be added.
Our job tracking software uses Microsoft SQL Server and ASP. We can provide customised solutions and advice on incoporating/adapting the job tracker into your business.
