Chiddingfold is a lovely village with a large traditional green, pub and church. The annual Chiddingfold Bonfire attracts thousands of visitors every year from Surrey and beyond. A park and ride is provided at Witley railway station and the village centre is closed to traffic. The bonfire is huge and the fireworks are spectacular!
The bellringers have the unique priviledge of being able to scramble out through a small door above the bells onto the parapet to watch the display and festivities below.

2005, the 400th anniversary of Guy Fawkes!
The Surrey Advertiser notes that the display was the best ever, with 10,000 people present. As usual, ringing was arranged as part of the festivities, and ringers from the District are always sure of a warm welcome from John the TC.
