Farnham District News/Events: April 2006

John Bauld writes:

Here is the April Notice. I have also attached the forms/flyers for the Holy Week Training Event and the District Outing in June.

I have also posted these on the Farnham District Yahoo Group and made them Calendar entries.

For the Holy Week training event I understand that a number of people have verbally expressed interest but have not claimed a place on the course. Could Tower correspendents please encourage those intending to go to contact Anne Anthony.

Farnham District’s Forthcoming Events

a) The District Outing to Central London on June 3rd being organised by James White, who writes:
The following towers have been booked:-
1000     St Lawrence Jewry next Guildhall (8)
1115     St Vedast, Foster Lane (6)
 1345     St Botolph, Bishopsgate (8)
 1515     Christchurch, Spitalfields (8) - tbc
1645     St Olave, Hart Street (8)
We have an hour at each church.  They are all reasonably close together and there is time to walk between them.
I suggest that participants travel by train: there are trains at 0834 from Aldershot and 0859 from Farnborough. You may want to get a "travelcard" i.e. a return which includes travel in London, in order to get to the first tower by tube/bus.

b) Puttenham are looking for help to remove their bells after Easter. Let Andrew Baxter or Stephen Darvil know if you can spare a day or two to help.

You can now send and receive all kinds of messages about practices, special events, ringers required for weddings, outings etc directly to you by joining the Farnham District Yahoo Group. Send an E-Mail to the Moderator, Toby Arkless (e-mail available from Webmaster) to join up. It is VERY easy.
