In commenting on the ringing, the judge said that it was particularly pleasureable to
be judging the first inter-district 10 bell competition for the Guildford Guild, and well done to all those
taking part.
He noted the difficulty of the "pull-off" (which was being marked in this
competition) and also made reference to the fourth bell which was clearly difficult
to strike.
Fairly detailed remarks were made about each team both on the overall impression of
the test piece and also on particular areas which had given rise to faults.
After the results the assembly adjourned to the Barley Mow for the pre-ordered lunch
which was very nicely prepared. I can particularly recommend the Belgian Waffles with
banana, ice-cream and chocolate sauce! The day being lovely and sunny, many people
chose to sit in the garden.
A very enjoyable occasion. Thankyou to Epsom for hosting.

Arrangements
Our first inter-district 10-bell competition is fast approaching!
On the day, please meet at the St Martin's Epsom for a 10.00am draw.
Parking is available in front of the church, and we also plan to
use the office car park, next to Ye Old King's Head, if there is a need
for further parking space.
Church House will be open during the morning with
toilets/refreshments available. The results of the competition will be given here.
On conclusion of the competition, it is planned that we should
adjourn to the Barley Mow, where the conservatory has been reserved for the
ringers, for lunch. This pub is a short walk away, but also has a pay and
display carpark next door. Instructions for reaching the pub will be
available at the church. A menu for lunches will be available during the morning
for those wishing to order food. It would be useful if you could let me
know the approximate number of lunches that may be required by your band
please.
