2007: my Ratoon fruit
I was a little worried about the ripening process as it took so long to start, so the weather had turned cold with short days. Still, being indoors seemed to provoke a ripening process. I was determined to leave it as long as possible before tasting. The stem to the fruit had in fact begun to wither a little but the aroma was so good that I decided that the time was ripe (groan) and sent out invitations to the Pineapple Harvest, 2007.

| Just in case, I purchased a nice pineapple from the supermarket so that people would have something to eat if the home grown one was inedible! Here are the two fruits. | ![]() |
| Chopped up; seemed a shame to chop it up after looking after it all year. But, all was well, no need for worry! The flavour was exquisite. The colour was rich and full. So full of sweet, aromatic juice - you can't buy them like this. And the air miles? - zero! | ![]() |
| I made some juice from the rindy bits. It was good... | ![]() |
| Juice dripping. | ![]() |
