Nighttime Thumpings (or; Extreme Thumping!)

On the night of December 9/10th which was forecast to be frosty and misty, the RAILTRACK de-icing "Thumper" was out and about. It visited Redhill in order to reverse while tending to the Tonbridge-Redhill line.

These photos are captured from my digi-cam using a TV card on my home computer, so apologies for the low quality.

The peak hour Uckfield turns were due to have been fully 171-operated ages ago, but our old friends have been out to play on many occasions because of non-availability of new stock. Some of the last ever (??) shots:

The long suffering commuters get into the historic carriages again. This must surely be the last time!
